Katherine Anne Austen and James ‘Sawyer’ Ford are centuries-old vampires who have spent most of their immortal undead life as companions, ever since Sawyer got fatally injured and, Kate, who had known Sawyer all her mortal life, turned him into one of her kind.

It’s the 21st century and people do not take kindly to the creatures of the night. When Kate gets captured and tortured by a vampire-hater, Sawyer dedicates his days to finding his maker. He does not break his vow, but as he is finally reunited with Kate, the torturer drives a wooden stake through his heart. Devastated, Kate avenges his death and, heartbroken for having lost her progeny, companion and best friend, goes on to roam the earth alone, indulging in killing sprees and bloodshed.
